Horses For Sale

PRR Dreamin of Pistols

Looking for a new owner (spring/summer 2018) for this personable, and loveable young gelding. (Quinton)
  • 2015 15.22 hh – as a 2 YO,  (should mature to 16hh)
  • APHA Breeders Trust Gelding.
  • Sire is a 2X Pt.H.A. World Champion, APHA Superiors in Trail and Western Riding.
  • Quinton has has some arena training, w,t,c, knows leads –( loped lightly this fall as he is a very growthy colt), knows his leads and all leg yielding (side pass, two tracks, hips and shoulders)
  • Absolutely no tricks or funny ideas during training, wants to learn and can’t seem to learn new tasks quickly enough, he’s a sponge for knowledge and willingness. Same horse everyday whether ridden once every day or left for 2 – 3 weeks. I’ve started alot of young horses, Quinton is as honest and reliable as they come.
  • Has done trail at the Grasswoods Horse park – water obstacles etc. (see video below)
  • Has had many hours out of the arena on solo rides – walks out well and away from home/herd enthusiastically and has a good ground covering walk – he’ll get you places.
I LOVE this gelding. He is a great friend, and deserves his own person who will see him excel.  He is sound, happy and healthy and I would like to keep him this way. He is a good honest horse and will go on to do great things in the right hands. This is why I am beginning my search for the right owner now. He may not sell to top bidder or for the highest dollar – that doesn’t necessarily make it a good home. A reasonable market price is negotiable to the buyer who possesses these qualities:
  1. Confidence and experience in riding young and green started horses. A business plan/purpose on how you would like Quinton to be finished. This includes the resources that will be required; time, money, training and trainer involved in the process to reach your goal
  2. Be realistic in your abilities and know who to consult when you’ve reached yours. Be honest about your fears, if you’re not, this horse will recognize them, you will need to accept and overcome them or have someone trusting who can help both you and the horse. This horse is kind and gently and does not own a mean bone in his body. He will teach you to be confident with the right help.
  3. A person who lives relatively close to the Saskatoon area, and can come for help and consultation with me when needed. The consultation/lessons are included in the purchase price of the horse which is why his purchase price is negotiable.
  4. Someone with show experience is appreciated, but not necessarily required. Someone who has interest &/or knowledge to be in the show pen with this gelding is an asset. APHA Breeders trust horses earn $$ for their APHA points.
  5. New owner must exhibit signs of having enough disposable income  to support the cost of owning a horse (ferrier, vet and feed bills). Have a good idea of  what annual expenses are to own a horse and know that they can afford those additional costs.
  6. New Owner must take  the time to build a repoire with the horse prior to sale, showing commitment, trust, & integrity. To be patient and kind, but also assertive at the right times to keep him progressive and willing.
  7. Be aware that accidents can happen at any time to any horse. Be fully prepared to accept the risks and losses that come with the joys of horse ownership. Accidents will happen and you may not salvage your financial loss.
Price  is negotiable to the right buyer if they show some of these qualities after investing some time with the horse. Selling good honest horses to the right home has become as hard in this market for sellers as finding the right horse for buyers. The door swings both ways for both seller and buyer. I have been stung by buyers who weren’t honest about themselves or their abilities and seen some very talented horses regress and stagnate in their abilities because their owner are not true to themselves. Yes, I breed and sell horses, but still take pride in them when they succeed in new homes with new owners. That is the ultimate breeders dream. I have downsized to one mare – as the market dictates today. I have the ability and time to find the right matches for my dear friends. It may take 2 or 3 years to find the right homes for my horses, but that is ok, I have lots of time, land, feed and resources and can afford to hold onto them and put more time on them, only making them more marketable and profitable in the future.

Sorry, no trades or payment plans, those days are long gone here. Purchase price is the cheapest part of owning a horse, if you have to finance that; you have just eliminated quality 1 & 5 of buyer requirements.

So bottom line is...THE SALE PRICE OF THIS HORSE WILL VARY UPON THE BUYERS ABILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS OF THE HORSE. His base started price is $4500.00 + gst

If you think you are interested and would like to come meet and ride Quinton, I’d be more than willing to make arrangements to make this happen. I can book an arena for indoor riding this winter, and perhaps it will be the beginning of a life long friendship for all of us. Thanks to all who have expressed an interest in this great boy.

PRR DREAMN OF PISTOLS (aka - "Quinton")

2015 Sorrel Tobiano Gelding

APHA Breeders Trust

Sire: Pistol Packin Frekles

Dam: PRR Dreamn Thru Class out of Ima Whiskey Dream - Ima Whiskey Fantasy

Quinton will be a big gelding, 15.2 hh as a 2 year old and quickly growing. He very personable with that laid back "pete" disposistion. Nice all around, versatile gelding, that is breeders trust nominated. Could double duty with some ranch work. Don't get much more laid back than this guy.

The  video is of his first experience at the natural trail course at Grasswoods horse park. Waaay more than I expected from this kid. The 2nd video (on the more info tab below) is him loping for the first time in the outdoor arena, nothing has been spliced or edited.

He is a quick learner, and can go as slow or as fast as you need him to go. Nice easy start, first time backed I rode him out. He walks out and covers ground,  not a slow poke and will get you places in a short amount of time.  He has started his arena training this summer. He's  leg yeilding, learning his leads & stated trail obstacles and stays super willing. Real nice gelding with personality and size. Honest and trustworthy. Will be a huge ranch horse or competitive trail gelding. Please email for price and details.
